What is foot reflexology?
Reflexology applies pressure to specific points on the feet that practitioners traditionally associate with different areas of the body. At Kyochi it is offered as a wellness and relaxation service. Many guests visit simply because it helps them slow down and because their feet feel better afterwards.
Is reflexology the same as a foot massage?
They overlap but they are not identical. A massage works broadly across muscle and soft tissue. Reflexology works with specific points in a deliberate sequence, holding pressure rather than sweeping across the foot. Both are relaxing. Reflexology is the more structured of the two.
Does it hurt?
It should not. Some points can feel tender when pressure is applied, which is normal and usually passes within a few seconds. Tell your therapist the moment you feel it and they will ease off. Nothing in a session should be something you have to endure.
How long is a session?
Sessions run 30, 40, or 60 minutes depending on the service. Some of our special therapies are offered as 60 minutes only. Full timings and prices are listed on our pricing page.
